I’m sure most people who buy our drinks know that every bottle funds clean water projects. I hope they’d also know that our waters, no added sugar Juiced Waters and organic, botanically infused spring waters Origins range (which is coming very soon!) are good for them too. But I’m not sure how many people would know about our commitment to the environment and helping to combat climate change.
As well as using 35%+ recycled glass in our glass bottles and 25%+ recycled PET in our recyclable plastic bottles, we’re also a certified Carbon Neutral Company. This means that through making internal environmental changes and by funding carbon finance projects around the world, we have reduced our carbon emissions to net zero in accordance with The Carbon Neutral Protocol.
When we recertified last month, I found out about our new carbon finance project in Kenya (where we also fund life-changing water projects!). A programme that provides efficient cookstoves to some of the most vulnerable communities in the country. As well as reducing people’s dependence on non-renewable biomass sources, these cookstoves reduce fuel use by approximately 50% and toxic emissions by up to 70%. They also play an important part in tackling the health issues  associated with traditional cookstoves, while promoting financial security and female empowerment.
I’m extremely proud to say that whatever causes our customers support, they can be certain that they’re helping to achieve the 17 Global Goals to end poverty, inequality and climate change by 2030 every single time they drink a bottle of One. Now isn’t that refreshing?
